E.G.O. Design Studio, in collaborazione con la Fondazione Achille Castiglioni, ha lanciato una call aperta agli illustratori su Instagram.È stato chiesto di realizzare illustrazioni su 3 parole chiave sulla figura di Achille Castiglioni, uno dei piu grandi desinger italiani:

FUNZIONALITÀ,
MEMORIA.
Ho deciso di mescolare le tre parole chiave nelle tre animazioni per ottenere un punto di vista interessante.
Ogni fotogramma è disegnato individualmente su Procreate.
Gli effetti sonori sono stati con lo smartphone e le soundtracks sono state composte e suonate con la chitarra appositamente per ogni animazione.

I decided to mix the three keywords in the three animations to achieve an interesting point of view.
Each frame is drawn individually on Procreate. Sound effects are recorded with my phone and soundtracks are composed and played with my guitar specifically for each animation.

"Arco" (1962) è l'emblematica lampada ideata da Castiglioni. E' la perfetta fusione progettuale di semplicità, funzionalità e genio. La bellezza disarmante di questa lampada non è stata la prerogativa, ma l'ennesima riuscita della sua ricerca formale.
E' noto che "Arco" sia nata dopo che Achille guardò un lampione per strada e decise "semplicemente" di portarlo (progettandolo) in casa.

La penna con la quale Achille scrive in questa animazione è stato il frutto postumo del suo ultimo progetto. Il progetto che lo studio E.G.O. ha deciso di riportare in vita.
Insieme alla penna, una micromina e una matita da cantiere. Tre strumenti da scrittura. Tre strumenti per tenere traccia, tre strumenti per ricordare.

La piccola lampada "Ventosa" (1962) di Achille e Pier Giorgio ha innescato subito il mio processo creativo.
Pare che "Ventosa" sia nata per gioco, con un gioco. Come le pistole spara-freccette morbide o gli archi degli indiani con le frecce a ventosa.
